Maintenance Manager, Abbotsford, BC
Lead a team. Build a stronger fleet. Keep your community moving.
Behind every reliable transit service is a maintenance team that takes pride in its work, and a leader who helps them succeed.
Transdev Canada is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations in Abbotsford and Chilliwack. This is an opportunity to shape how our shops operate, develop a skilled team, and make a visible difference to the public transit services thousands of people rely on every day.
Our Central Fraser Valley operation includes 115 buses, two depots, and approximately 240 employees. You’ll play a key leadership role in keeping that fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service.
The role
You’ll bring together technical knowledge, practical leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Working closely with the General Manager, Operations, and regional maintenance leadership, you’ll set the direction for both maintenance teams and give them the support to deliver.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being present in the shops, building relationships with employees, and turning challenges into practical solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Build a culture of safety and pride. Create an environment where employees raise concerns, look out for one another, and take ownership of safe, high-quality work.
- Develop a team that delivers. Coach supervisors and frontline employees, strengthen skills, and build clear expectations, accountability, and trust across both depots.
- Drive fleet reliability. Bring a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and repair planning, helping reduce downtime and keep buses available when the community needs them.
- Make the operation stronger. Use maintenance data and your team’s insights to improve work planning, shop organization, parts availability, inventory control, and warranty recovery.
- Connect maintenance with the wider business. Build strong partnerships with Operations, BC Transit, suppliers, and contractors so decisions support safe, dependable service.
At Transdev, our values—Care, Share, Dare, Deliver—guide how we lead. You’ll bring them to life through the way you support your people, share knowledge, challenge existing practices, and follow through on commitments.
