HandyDART Drivers Wanted for Metro Vancouver!
Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Drivers to join our Vancouver team.
As a HandyDART Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Your role:
- Passenger Assistance: Provide safe and courteous door-to-door service and assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle using appropriate on-board restraints for wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
- Safe Operation: Operate HandyDART vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
- Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
- Safety and Sensitivity: Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.

Your profile:
- You hold a class 1, 2 or 4 Unrestricted Driver's License OR a valid Class 4 Learner's License
- You have clean driving record.
- You have a strong commitment to safety and customer service
- You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You desire to make a real difference in the lives of the customers you serve
- You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks.
- Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
- This is a casual, unionized position in Vancouver, BC.
- Flexible schedule
- HandyDART Bus Drivers must be available for at least 10 full days a month.
